Bee spent quite a happy hour
On that particular flower.
In fact he had begun to doze
When suddenly a cold wet nose –
Bumped him from behind.
He spun around and – oh good grief
It looked just like a row of teeth.
A boundy dog with clumsy paws
Had sucked him up between his jaws.
Then Bee groaned and worse to come
The workings of some giant tongue.
He said – I should be making honey
Instead I’m lying in some tummy.
Bee tested all his pollen sacs
Which seemed to have remained intact.
Then dog stretched out his jaws full wide
And “flip” old Bee was back outside.
Good luck indeed to make escape
From crazy dog with jaws agape.
Dog went on his happy snappy way
As if he’d never known
Into his mouth a bee had flown.
